How Dr. Jenn Can HelpEXPLORE THERAPY OPTIONS
-

Infant Feeding Therapy
Whether your baby is breastfed, bottle-fed, or beginning solids, feeding therapy helps identify what's making eating difficult and supports safer, more comfortable feeding. Therapy may address latch, sucking patterns, coordination, endurance, oral motor skills, and the transition to new textures as your baby grows.
Common concerns:Breastfeeding difficulties
Bottle feeding challenges
Poor latch
Clicking while feeding
Milk leaking during feeds
Difficulty transitioning to solids
Gagging or choking while eating
Picky or limited acceptance of textures
Slow weight gain related to feeding
Feeding aversion
-

Oral Motor Therapy
Strong, coordinated oral muscles are essential for feeding, breathing, and later speech development. Oral motor therapy focuses on improving the strength, coordination, and movement of the lips, tongue, jaw, and cheeks to support healthy oral function.
Common concerns:Oral motor weakness
Difficulty coordinating oral movements
Excessive drooling
Mouth breathing
Tongue movement difficulties
Weak lip closure
Poor chewing skills
Difficulty managing saliva
-

Myofunctional Therapy
Healthy oral development depends on how the tongue, lips, jaw, and facial muscles work together. Myofunctional therapy helps establish proper oral function by addressing challenges such as mouth breathing, tongue posture, oral restrictions, and inefficient movement patterns that may impact feeding and development.
Common concerns:Tongue tie concerns
Mouth breathing
Low tongue posture
Oral restrictions
Poor tongue mobility
Lip tie concerns
Open-mouth posture
Oral function concerns

Your Questions, Answered
-
Speech-language pathologists do much more than help children talk. For babies, they also evaluate feeding, swallowing, oral function, and early communication. If you have concerns about feeding, babbling, oral development, or simply feel something isn't quite right, an evaluation can help provide clarity and peace of mind.
-
Every evaluation begins with getting to know your baby and your family's concerns. Dr. Jenn will observe feeding, oral function, communication, and development as appropriate, discuss what she's seeing, answer your questions, and recommend the next steps if therapy would be beneficial.
-
Dr. Jenn works with babies experiencing a wide range of feeding and oral function challenges, including difficulty latching, bottle or breastfeeding concerns, tongue tie, oral motor weakness, mouth breathing, transitioning to solids, excessive drooling, and delayed early communication. Every baby is unique, so treatment is always tailored to their individual needs.
-
No. Dr. Jenn's goal isn't to promote one feeding method over another—it's to help your baby feed safely, comfortably, and successfully while supporting your family's goals. Every family is different, and recommendations are made without judgment and always with your baby's health and development in mind.
-
Doctors and dentists diagnose and perform tongue tie releases when appropriate, but that's only one part of the picture. A speech-language pathologist evaluates how your baby's tongue and oral muscles are actually functioning. Dr. Jenn helps determine whether therapy, a release, or another approach may be appropriate, and works closely with your medical team to support the best possible outcome.
-
Every baby is different. Some families benefit from a few visits and home strategies, while others need more ongoing support. After the evaluation, Dr. Jenn will recommend a personalized treatment plan based on your baby's needs, goals, and progress—never more therapy than is necessary.
